Easingwold is the first place where we started our British Life. We loved this place and are thankful to all the people who live here. Coming from Nepal to the UK would be very hard but people were really nice in Easingwold which made us less home-sick! Best wish to Easingwold and people here! Pradip, Bimala and Pravish Kashyap

Can I ask why you have cancelled the Hogrock Festival due to take place in the Commercial pub on 6th September? A lot of hard work and effort has gone into organising the event which was due to be a major success and a great day of entertainment from local musicians getting to show off their talents. I am deeply disappointed to hear the event has been cancelled due to Easingwold Town Council.one day of the year to have live music all through the day for all ages to enjoy and it has been ripped to shreds by yourselves. I would much appreciate a reply with an explanation.

Hi, I have been checking my family history and my Grandfather John Smithson Dunnill is from Easingwold. His surname is his mothers maiden name and his middle name is possibly that of his father (Born out of wedlock) who may have been a butcher (Smithson) in the area around the turn of the century. Can anyone throw some light on this for me? It would be good to meet some Smithsons connected to the family sometime maybe. Thanks for your help in this matter.

Hi, I am going to be visiting Easingwold soon as my family is originally from the area between the 1700s and 1900s. I believe there are two Dunnill families still living in the village. I am tracing the family tree to see if either of these are recently related. I presume both Dunnill families are related somehow. If anyone knows which Dunnill is listed on the war memorial it would be a great help!

Believe it or not Easingwold has alot of problems beneath the nice quiet exterior. ie drugs, teenage pregnacies, vandalism, underage drinking and generally anti-social behaviour. Personally I see Easingwold's reputation rapidly declining over the next ten years.

I think the brewery (bought by John Smiths of Tadcaster) was next to Avondale House at the top of Spring Street (with the Jolly Farmer pub on the other side). The `son` of the family was called Norman or Noel he had a lot to do with the cricket scene in those days. I would be so grateful for any information no matter how
