Councillor
David Bream
Since 1993, I have resided in Easingwold and raised my two daughters here, who attended primary and secondary schools before pursuing higher education.
In my early years, I actively participated in the primary school Parent Teacher Association (PTA), raising substantial funds for temporary classrooms. Additionally, I supported the cricket club through fundraising for a new pavilion and the football club.
For five years, I served as chairman and organiser of the Galtres Fun Run, which was the primary annual fundraising event for Easingwold District Scouts and a significant social event in the town.
During my professional career, I held the position of Operations Manager at British Sugar in York. I opted to take early retirement upon the closure of the York Sugar factory in 2006, as I desired to remain in Easingwold.
Since retirement, I have dedicated myself as a voluntary ranger with the North York Moors National Park. My most notable achievement in this role was being recognised as the National Parks UK-wide volunteer of the year in 2019.
My diverse skill set, acquired through both my professional and volunteer experiences, enables me to contribute effectively to the Easingwold community. I eagerly anticipate the challenges and opportunities that my role as a councillor will present.
